We don’t farm the land.
We partner with it.

This isn’t just a farm.
It’s a restoration story.

Restoring The Land

Nestled in the rolling hills of Meadows of Dan, Virginia, Chasing Rabbits Farm is more than a patch of land—it’s a promise to restore what’s been lost. After witnessing firsthand how industrial farming stripped our family’s soil of life, we’ve set out on a mission to do things differently.

With a deep love for the land and a passion for healing it, we are building a regenerative farm from the ground up—literally. No plows. No chemicals. Just animals and nature doing the work they were designed to do.

Rotational Grazing

We move our animals from pasture to pasture, giving the land time to rest and renew. It’s a simple rhythm that keeps the soil healthy and our animals happy—just the way nature intended.

Biodiversity

We believe more life means more balance. By growing a variety of plants and raising different animals, we’re creating a thriving farm ecosystem full of connection and resilience.

Rich Soil

Instead of turning the soil over, we let it stay covered and undisturbed—protecting the rich life below the surface. When we care for the soil gently, it returns the favor in abundance.

A Vision You Can Visit

We dream of a farm that’s not just seen—but experienced. One where you can:

How We Found Our Way Back to the Land

I (Wendy) was raised on a farm and have always loved growing things—both plants and animals. But as I got older, it became harder to ignore what years of plowing and chemicals had done to our land. By the time we stopped farming, our once-thriving Centennial Farm couldn’t even grow weeds. The soil had lost its life.

I knew there had to be a better way. When I discovered regenerative farming, everything clicked—no plowing, no chemicals, just animals working in harmony with the land, the way God designed it. We began our journey on a small 5-acre patch of my family’s farm, but over time, the encroaching industry made it clear we needed a new place to put down roots.

After searching high and low across North Carolina and hitting dead end after dead end, we took a spontaneous drive to Meadows of Dan. The moment I saw the rolling hills, I felt it—this was home. And when I saw the lavender farm nearby, I knew we’d found something truly special.

Like all good things, this will take time. But we’re here. We’re ready. And we’re so grateful to begin building Chasing Rabbits Farm—one pasture, one seed, one season at a time.
